There is currently a leadership race for our Conservative Party. The forerunner is....urgh... a business man and a reality tv star....

Motion m-103 is being debated in Parliament. It's stated purpose is to curb Islamophobia in Canada.

The Carbon tax is much hated and will likely cause the end of politicians who support it.

I don't know that much about it , but it's a tax on fossil fuel usage

@ajoite: Each province is required to come up with their own carbon tax policy by 2018 or the federal government will impose their policy. So it depends in which province you live. We have 10 provinces, 3 territories.

@Ax17x7: Do your provinces have much independent power? In Wales we have a Welsh assembly but unlike Scotland the laws are the same as England, we only differ in small details as in what date a new law will be introduced. We then have County Councils that only really deal with local bylaws

@ajoite: The provinces do have a degree of independent power. The jurisdictions of the provincial governments and the federal government are outline in the British North American Act.
