It's now reported both countries have confirmed it but Russia will not start it until Tuesday- no I don't know why.

Apparently Melania Trump negotiated it in the UN, not the country. I was not aware she is an international diplomat, but perhaps she works for a UN aid agency?

As fars as can be determined the population of Oleshky has reduced from around 24000 to around 2000, mainly elderly and some children; enduring shortages of foods, medicines etc. and likely to be hunted and shot by drones if they try to flee.

I'm surprised there are still children there, not kidnapped by the Russians and taken to Russian towns very far from Ukraine to be raised as Russians.

What the Hell is she even doing there? That is, if she is there, of course, and the reported claim is not a hoax that might not even originate in the White House. (Though we have come to expect all sorts of tosh from there.)

Note though - European news outlets are reporting the White House claiming she secured a ceasefire.

NOT reporting that she has.

Note too the lack of confirmation or rebuttal from the US administration.
