Questions over WH press secy. Zacharia's claim she's a lawyer

[media=https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=ET4Af-VYaMY]

New White House press secretary, Katie Zacharia, has presented herself as a lawyer, but does not meet the requirements in her home state to use that title. And at least one watchdog group has asked the State Bar of California to investigate.

Zacharia has a law degree from the Pepperdine Caruso School of Law, but there’s no evidence she ever passed a bar exam. She does claim to have obtained a credential in China, but it’s not at all clear what credential she’s talking about.

My comments:

Oh, I am absolutely certain that Demented Donnie used all of his typical care and thoroughly screened and vetted her just as he does with all of his selectees…. /S

Take one look at her and you'll see her qualifications. It's like Trump only hires Ivanka clones.

What is her Chinese credential? A certificate from the Communist Party?

Since she has no law license there is no danger of being disbarred for following trump's whims.
@Crazywaterspring Foreigners are not permitted to take the bar in China.

And—solely on the basis of that first “news conference” she gave—I have serious doubts whether she could even correctly print her name on the Chinese bar exam answer sheet yet alone read the instructions…
@Crazywaterspring Perhaps Demented Donnie should have introduced her as: Comrade Zacharia ???
@Crazywaterspring She has no intention to prosecute someone in California so whether she has the pre-requisite to do that seems kind of irrelevant.

And China is way ahead of the US in the field of law. China doesn't use the system to make lawyers indentured servants for 30 years by making sure they are half a million in the whole from day one.

Getting a law degree in China is roughly about 40K in total.

Part of why the US has legions of ambulance chasers is because they are desperate to pay their student loans before they die of old age.

I read the weirdest thing on a Washington state attorneys website

A lawyer is someone who has finished law school and has a law degree

An attorney is one who has passed a bar exam and has a license to practice law

Lawyers can do legal research, work in compliance or policy making but cannot represent clients in court or practice law.

So she is technically correct even if she is misleading the listeners
@Pretzel …well, I’m not that desperate and looking at how so many of those that he’s hired have ended up in prison…

…no thank you…I will pass…
@ElwoodBlues Obviously the reporters had already investigated her—they pounced with that question on her first very brief and very limited “pressor”.

Of course, tRUMP did her no favors by utterly failing to vet her!

I've seen claims that over the past 2 years Zacharia said she was an attorney multiple times in social media posts, and that tRump referred to her as an attorney.

Google's AI sez
Media reviews (including CNN's K-File) found at least 15 social media posts on platforms like X and Truth Social (between April 2025 and September 2026) where she posted, shared, or amplified headlines or segments describing her as an attorney.
