Revisiting History And Being Clueless

[media=https://youtu.be/z9CGSoC_nQM]

So did the Green Party / Ralph Nader run in 2000, cost Gore the Presidential elections?

You must have tunnel vision to believe that.

I voted for Bush in 2000, but it did not matter, because it was a Gore landslide in Washington State. A couple of reasons why I voted Bush.

1. I attended a local Gore rally, to support him, but his entire pitch, was handed to him by Silicon Valley venture capital firms, and it nauseated me.

2. He did nothing to distance himself from Bill Clinton's bad behavior, especially when it came out that Hillary commissioned a poll, to see which bites more: Bill admitting to his affairs or denying them, and the poll came in favor of Bill denying them.

But really, did a Nader run tip the scales in Florida, the ONLY state where it mattered?

And the answer is unequivocally NO. Gore did not lose Florida because 99,700 Americans voted for Bush. He lost Florida, because:

1. 307,000 registered Democrats voted for Bush.

2. A conservative SCOTUS gave the elections to Bush.

But you'd need to look outside of your cocoon to get the facts.

Bush won Florida by something like 550 votes. More than that number voted for Nader. However, we can't assume that if Nader hadn't run, his votes would have gone to Gore. Even if they had, in this hypothetical election with no third parties, maybe the Libertarian votes would have gone to Bush and the result would have been the same.

The lesson of 2000 isn't to get rid of third parties, but to get rid of the Electoral College and elect the president by popular vote

Amazing, it's like you did not read the post. Here it is, again:
