Election day in many countries looks different.

Much of the world offers a paid federal holiday, and easy access to voting on election day. Many countries hold elections on Sundays. Some countries even offer free transportation, and mobile voting sites to rural areas.

Should we do the same here in the United States?

Others arrange for polling-stations to open early and close late to suit most people's work patterns, e.g. the 7a.m. to 10p.m. here in the UK, where it is always on a week-day when most are at home when not at work. We can vote by post or proxy if necessary, but I think more use their local polling-station (usually a local community or church hall hired for the purpose).
