Who Owns The Moon?

Seems as if the US and China and possibly Russia, have actrice programs to place nuclear reactors on the moon.

China and the US no longer pretend this is a secret.

So, who owns the moon? And how will the real estate be divvied up? And when will the first war begin?

Last time I heard it was Gru from Despicable Me.😆

I think Micheal Jackson bought it.

@Lostpoet HEEE hee... 🤭

Ehh, bad joke. You can sm4ck me later.
Lostpoet · M
@SunSetStrut Nah, I’m serious I saw a YouTube thing on it.

@Lostpoet I believe it. Cr4zier things have happened.

I don't know, I mean what would someone do with the moon? I mean I can see someone trying to own the entire Earth but other celestial bodies?

The poles are prime real estate. What little water there is would be there in the ground of course.

We should treat it like Antarctica and make a treaty.

In the end, assuming that the Moon is actually colonized permanently, the two human civilisations will be split by the emerging physical differences put in place by gravity and radiation regimes. And certainly children born on the moon will have a poor prognosis if they ever land on earth..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Who says humans will be used?

@Northwest Good point..The robots can explore, mine and develop certain functions. But if AI ever gets loose up there, it will likely be only a matter of time before it tells us to stop bothering it..😷

I am sure trump will want to rename the moon "America" like he wants to rename everything on this planet. And Mars as well.

Future students will have an easy time learning the names of everything in the solar system because trump will want to call it all "America". 🙄 I bet the MAGAts are creaming their britches over that.

Well, I better head out because it is a nice day with no clouds and the America is in the sky...

(God help us)

@SunSetStrut Would have been a great day to be at the game, but I'm instead recovering form COVID. Oh well, it's the 8th punt of the game and we're early in the 2nd quarter.

• The Outer Space Treaty of 1967 bans any nation from claiming the moon as its own territory.
• More than 100 countries signed this agreement to treat space as the common province of all humankind.
• Planting a flag, like the United States did during the Apollo missions, does not give a country owners

@Lilnonames The USA, China don't have any credibility when it comes to sticking to agreements, and the Soviet Union no longer exists.
Lilnonames · F
@Northwest ahh so basically its void
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Lilnonames the problem will be over water. Especially with any type of nuclear reactors. And therefore that potentially could cause a war.

The USA has nothing to do with the moon because they've never landed there, contrary to popular American opinion.

Are you under medical supervision? Seriously. If not, find some. I hear the medical system is more readily available in Canada. In any, I see no point giving you a podium here.
