Too many people think of war like a sports game.
"I don't like that country, I like the one who opposes them so I hope that they win."
As if they don't understand that it's not just a ball being passed around while someone keeps score. It is innocent people being killed.
Next time you step out your front door, notice the next woman you see pushing a baby in a stroller. Imagine a missile exploding on top of them and both their body parts flying into pieces.
Or worse, imagine a group of soldiers with armor and assault rifles approaching them and having their way.
That is war. It's not football. There is no referee calling fouls or punishing bad behavior. It's blood and guts and people screaming and dying and being blown to pieces, buried alive, suffocating in cages, with no justice nor mercy.
And often, it is one superpower invading the home of a weaker territory.
So when you root for that, you are rooting for that woman and her baby being blown to pieces or helplessly raped and murdered. They were no different than the woman pushing her baby in your neighborhood. And they are dead because you choose to tolerate and encourage war crimes. Because you think of it like a sport, where one side is good just by virtue of aligning with your views, and the other deserves to "lose".
