The right has been really shaken up around the world because progressives are gaining traction. It's still not enough to upset the power balance but never before have progressives really been heard. It's all democrats who are really low key republicans and well republicans themselves tbh who have been having the priority votes.
It does tell you an indication to what the public is thinking and conservatives know that their policies aren't working. You can see their own base hurting too from some of trump's policies.
I mean it took like dozens of years of far right strong holds around the world for people to see but this new change is basically people recognizing that it's not working.
Plus conservatives have using the communism bit since the red scare but as time goes on and no new red scare happens, it's becomes less of a realistic possibility and more of a conspiracy theory.
So all their old excuses aren't working, support generally for right wing nations is dwindling and if they keep it up, they don't have any support as you can only be the little boy who cried wolf for so long.
That's why this is hilarious, if Israel really did say that and that's true, it is largely out of fear cos while they might not win across the board, people like Mamdani do have way more support than they did before.
