It's never too late to do the right thing...

I rarely pay attention to the politics of any pop culture personality. In fact, I pay very little attention to pop culture personalities in general (as evidenced by how little I knew about Dolly Parton upon her recent passing).

Jelly Roll is a figure I first became aware of when his song "I Am Not Okay" first came out. The lyrics, tempo, melody all spoke to me. And I liked a few other songs of his that I found after that. Someone told me he was a country artist and I thought, he doesn't sound country??

And, again, I had no idea what his politics were. Nor did I care. Apparently some people felt he was a MAGA Republican. And now some people think he's a socialist. I only know those two things because I saw his monologue from when he hosted the Jimmy Fallon show. Here it is:



Suddenly I'm obsessed with this guy. Every single political idea, concept, and philosophy that he espouses in this video could come from my mouth. I felt it was worth sharing.
