Climate change has been happening ever since earth formed. The hoax that it is caused by humans is nothing but a money-making scam created by democrats to get rich. And of course you fell for it.🤣 You shouldn't let yourself be manipulated so easily.
@ron122 I'll let myself be "manipulated" by the 99% of scientists, 99% of governments, 99% of industry leaders, and indeed more than 90% of the general public worldwide who actually believe, and know, that man-made climate change is real, and is f*cking us all up.
More scientists believe that man-made climate change is real than those who believe that smoking is the primary cause of most cancers.
But we stray from my point, which is that the tiny minority of scientists who believe that man-made climate change is a hoax are handsomely bankrolled by Big Oil and other vested interests.

Climate change is real. It's been happening over and over for billions of years. So, yeah, you are right. It's real. It's been real for billions of years.

Ice cores & sediments also allow us to measure temperature back then, via the ratio of stable isotopes: hydrogen to deuterium, and oxygen-16 to oxygen-18. The lighter molecules evaporate with less energy, so the relative concentrations record temperature. Also, methane levels correlate with higher atmospheric temperatures because the heat causes more wetlands and permafrost to expand or thaw, releasing more methane into the air.

The most salient thing about the 800,000 years of climate data is the rate of change during those previous 7 ice ages compared to the current rate of change this century.
@jshm2 It's fair to ask where climate research money comes from. Answer: it comes mostly from the National Science Foundation.
Equally fair: where does the money for climate denial come from? The US oil industry makes about $110 billion per year; coal another $20 billion. Big Oil spends $3.6 billion per year on advertising; a sum equal to about 8X the whole NSF climate budget. You're not naive enough to believe none of that money goes to propaganda, are you?
Climate change is real - it’s the cause of it that is the controversy. It should be pointed out that many scientists are funded by the green lobby who stand to make millions too. So what goes round…
@MoSmith If I may. Yes. Controversy. That's the point of this post. It's only a controversy because of the reasons mentioned. Faux-controversies, like what's around climate change, is because a whole lot of people are driven by two main factors. Fear and enemies. That's the focus for those seeking to manipulate for their own gain. And that holds true for a host of issues. There is no controversy around this topic from those who have committed their lives to studying it. And if the data and science showed that climate change wasn't taking place that's what would be reported. Scientists don't care about outcomes.They care about the process. That means proof and evidence. And that's examined from every side before something is published. Getting it right is all they care about. And I'll never understand why that can't be respected. And appreciated. But feelings and belief, educated by what manipulators feed, is what drives the show for WAY too many. It's an example of how the few make things so much worse for the many.
