I see these punative tariffs as a tool to get Canada in line and fair. No more dumping Chinese steel on the US, no more super high agricultural tariffs. Stop screwing around and look at the big picture. I believe at some point, this will get straightened out. But not until some pain is felt.
@AmericanAvenger thanks for BC. Yes, I agree he doesn't communicate these things. Doing so would eliminate his leverage. The man knows how to create it and wield it.
@carpediem I give him time to work these tariffs - but he better make them pay off. People dont understand that it takes time for massive global economic changes like this. As soon as Trump was elected, people expected prices to fall the next day. Biden created record breaking inflation - it is not going away in a couple of years and people dont want to hear that.
@AmericanAvenger Honestly I've been blasting the message Trump on the Whitehouse app this year. He's making too many decisions after stopping the Iran bombing that have become more ego then logic driven. I discovered a while ago why prices in Canada have been ridiculously more then the US for so long. It's their own damn fault for the approach they took. Their the supply management program started in the 70s. Whoever an egg supply war In general, blew up on their face. resulting in things like produce and eggs being consistently higher. Then they started charging tariffs on imports. resulting in their own citizens paying two to three hundred percent more for items that we pay here in the US. Trump doesn't need to punish him. Their own damn government is punishing them.
