From everything I've been reading I believe the filibuster rule is safe, for now. I'm hoping the Court won't take up the appeal of his Executive order. It seems clear the President has no authority to order changes in election laws and rules.

Article 1, Section 4, of the Constitution says, “The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations.”
@MoveAlong I think you are correct—the Republicans want their filibuster rule and they fear that they’ll need it to stop Impeachment after the midterms.
