Israel Warns Against Arrangement Taking Shape in US-Iran Talks

Netanyahu said on Wednesday Israel would not withdraw from its self-declared security zone in southern Lebanon "as long as I am prime minister," hours after Defense Minister Israel Katz said the IDF would not pull out "even if there is an American demand to do so."

Katz said that previous deployments of Israeli troops in buffer zones resulted in attacks on soldiers, adding that Israel will "not allow that. Solders inside, residents outside," and vowed that the 200,000 Lebanese residents displaced from the area "will not return."

This means one thing and one thing only: AIPAC is going to spend a shit ton of money to make sure its US representatives win.

Every PAC does that. It's why they exist.

Maybe Israel and Hezbollah should be included in the peace negotiations since they're not going to stop fighting just because the US and Iran make that a condition on ending the war.

Since Oct. 7, Hezbollah has been firing rockets into northern Israel, requiring Israelis who live there to evacuate. So instead of an informal buffer zone in northern Israel, there will be a formal one in southern Lebanon.

It's not like Israel was creating settlements in Lebanon. Hezbollah's issue is with Israel's existence, not its occupation of Lebanese land.

Interestingly, Palestinian refugees in Lebanon experience the worst conditions of any country they are in, confined to camps and prohibited from gaining Lebanese citizenship or even following certain professions. If Hezbollah cares so much about Palestinians, maybe they should focus on improving conditions for the ones in Lebanon instead of harassing Israel on behalf of the ones in Gaza and West Bank.

Thank you for AIPAC point of view.

Note that this is not what the post is about. Not that it's accurate either, you should ask AIPAC for the latest pamphlets.
