@sree251 Several Pacific Island nations have had Air and sea port facilities built by the Chinese, funded under the aid program. In every case the facility is capable of much more than the civilian needs of the Islands needs. In fact we are talking a full military spec. base in the raw.. This coupled with the fact that should the host nation fail to meet repayment terms laid out ( which happens a lot with poor nations) the ownership and control reverts to Chinese hands, giving them a legal military presence in the Pacific, In africa, railroads are being built to connect mineral mines containing ore required by the Chinese to port facilities to facilitate shipments to China..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Can you cite a specific case where the Chinese coerced a host nation to surrender control of built facilities? This is inconsistent with China's stated win-win policy of its Road and Belt program. Even American businesses operate in accordance with corporate guidelines that do not violate principles that protect public interests.

@sree251 Not yet. However, I believe it is the Solomon Islands who have given China access to their fishing grounds in exchange for an extension to pay. (I may have the island group incorrect, but someone did it. ) There are also reports of China putting pressure on some of these nations regards votes in the UN.😷
