A: a unused area that snow can be dumped with access to proper drainage.
8 of them for ALL OF NYC seems rather small though. I have used the technique myself in the mountains. I know just how big is even one acre would be needed for just two to three inches of snow. It's rather large.
@Waveney NEW YORK - The Times Square ball drop to celebrate America250 will no longer be a public event, and the move comes days after the mayor's emergency order to block certain "large-scale" gatherings this summer.
@kodiac LOL So now we’ve gone from “Mamdani banned patriotism” to “a specific Times Square event became ticketed because NYC was juggling World Cup security and massive policing demands”
The America250 celebration still exists, the ball drop still happens, and it’s still being broadcast; they just restricted the size of the public crowd during an already overloaded security window.
Meanwhile you conveniently ignore that the same rule also EXEMPTED demonstrations and recurring events because the issue was logistics and police deployment, not ideology.
And again, Muslim prayers in Times Square predated Mamdani entirely, so trying to tie every event in NYC history to him is just lazy culture-war bait. If your argument collapses the moment context is added, it probably wasn’t a very good argument to begin with, now was it? 😎🕺🏻
If you want to blame anyone for your ticketed event (which I sincerely doubt you were planning on attending, not living in NYC yourself) blame Trump’s bestest buddy bud-bud Gianni Infantino, or even Trump Himself...after all, it was him who allowed the World Cup bid back in 2017 😂
