Q: what's a snow melt site?

A: a unused area that snow can be dumped with access to proper drainage.

8 of them for ALL OF NYC seems rather small though. I have used the technique myself in the mountains. I know just how big is even one acre would be needed for just two to three inches of snow. It's rather large.

@kodiac no. But you clearly don’t either. You’ve basically crammed five Fox News Facebook memes into one sentence and hoped nobody would check them. Muslim prayers in Times Square were permitted public events that happened before Mamdani was even mayor, so blaming him for them just exposes how little you actually know.

He never promised “free housing for everyone” either, his platform was AFFORDABLE housing, rent freezes and transit reform, not handing out Manhattan penthouses. The “patriots banned from Times Square” story was another wildly exaggerated culture-war spin about temporary event permitting and logistics, not some anti-American decree. And if you’re going to scream that crime is “out of control” while providing zero statistics, zero context and zero evidence, you’re arguing with outrage, not facts. Or more likely, jealousy. 😂

@Waveney NEW YORK - The Times Square ball drop to celebrate America250 will no longer be a public event, and the move comes days after the mayor's emergency order to block certain "large-scale" gatherings this summer.
