It depends on the retired old person though, doesn't it? A record that has been beneficial to you or those you rally for shouldn't be dismissed. If they are monied, how they got that money and what they've done with it? Good works too, shouldn't be dismissed.
With the unlimited number of credible resources for information available to us, our choices should be made by knowing exactly what we are choosing. And we, as informed people, should be able to recognize when someone's age will become a thing.

Scurvy is natural. Polio is natural. Tetanus is natural. There are lots of things that are natural that we work to eliminate. Do you wear shoes even though barefoot is natural? Do you live under a roof even though rain is natural? Do you drive a car even though walking is natural? Do you think nearsighted people should eschew glasses because they're unnatural?
One of the great drivers of human innovation is improving natural conditions such as the ones mentioned above.
