Can u name a city known for its high crime 👀

Hmmmmm.
Right here in the US we have plenty.☺
I can tell you about a place named
Baltimore Maryland.
It's such a beautiful area for the most part
But the crime there is insane.
However most of the people there are
definitely good hard working people.
What do you think.
Can you name a city that is known for its
high rate of crime.
Best answer wins.☺ 🏙

@Carla yep, and it has for decades been complained about, argued about and had nothing of substance done to correct it.

Gary, Indiana , One time murder capital of the U.S. for many years!
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@Pfuzylogic Also former home of the Jacksons.

@Zonuss Yes! I’m afraid the song was 1970 and before the time of many but it was Michael before his countless surgeries!

In CANADA?!??? 😳

@Thinkerbell yep....downtown east side...we have beautiful parts of the city but that is the blight of it....it's really sad

Does the White House count as a city in the same way that the Vatican city does?

They are both riddled with crime....
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@Thodsis Of course.☺

No I can not.

Why?

The question itself is open ended although does specify crime rate in its explanation, a bland "A-thousand crimes per year" or equally bland "A%" by population alone does not give a true impression of the city.

Crime numbers or rate are of course not the same, and simply naming a city under the headline question can give a very distorted impression.

1000 crimes in one year is still 1000 crimes - and still 1000 too many - whether in a city of 1M or 10M people, but the larger of those two towns is the much safer one to inhabit or visit.

Even then, pure totals or rates are not sufficient for the city's reputation because that also depends heavily on the predominant types of crime and how those are reported.

The totals reported may be accurate but if of an entire class of offence rather than of specific offences within that class, they potentially give a very skewed view of the situation.

@ArishMell What. ☺

@Zonuss Well, Jerusalem and Washington DC are tied for being the places where the most genociders hang out to plan their murders around the world. They call themselves "government officials."
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@Diotrephes No comment.

Kansas City, Mo 😎

@calicuz Kansas City is nuts. I heard about them. ☺

@Zonuss

We are a little crazy. 😎

Washington DC no other city is close. Washington is especially noted for its organized crime.

The criminals actually meet openly here:

Zonuss · 46-50, M
@MoveAlong Yes. A lot of people have a hard time accepting this truth. ☺

For the last 4 years straight St. Louis has held the title of "Most Murders in America".

@Zonuss And??? I live here. Trust me I know this. Everyday on the morning news there is a body count of how many were killed overnight.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@anythingoes477 It's still not like it was during the 70s and the 80s.

Baltimore is the armpit of Maryland. It's my state I know.
The first city that comes to mind is Chicago above all others.
Jenny1234 · 56-60, M
I drove through Baltimore late one Saturday night years ago on my way back to Toronto . It was sketchy af!
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@Jenny1234 Yep.

It's really sad how many cities we have with crime problems. It's not that we don't know what the causes are, it's that the system doesn't care, or it does in one aspect, but not enough to do something about it.
Ontheroad · M
@calicuz we don't even need to look at other countries. We have studies upon studies outling causes and fixes, and cities who have accomplished quite a lot, but they are few. And our government and the people continue ignoring the fixes. They'd rather point fingers and lay blame than do anything.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@Ontheroad Crime is everywhere. You'd really be shocked at the stuff that goes on behind closed doors. Especially in politics.☺
Ontheroad · M
@Zonuss I doubt I'd be surprised, even in politics. Maybe especially in politics. At least the street criminal is honest about be a criminal - not so about politicians.
