Will we see a united Ireland in our lifetime?

They certainly don't want the hard border again that may have to happen if Northern Ireland is to be dragged out of the EU by the UK.

It would be horrible.. A nice idea, but nobody living here wants it, it will just bring pain, war, suffering and more than that..Why stir up all that, when things are fine as they are right now..

@MightyAphrodite: honestly I would like it. Only if the people in the north really backed it though like an 90-95% majority for it at least so there wouldn't be any trouble

@MightyAphrodite: Would it stir that up though? We aren't talking about a forced union but as said above if both had a clear majority in favour it wouldn't be a problem.

@thatscottishguy: I can't see it working at all... there are too many people up the North who are happy to be part of the UK , too many who want nothing to do with the Rep.
