Baby boomers are destroying America.

Boomers, representing 22% of the population, owned 42% of homes causing a "bottleneck" that limits housing for younger generations.

Boomers supported policies that increased the national debt to over $30 trillion while eroding the middle class.

Boomers support Donald Trump who is bought and paid for by Deep State that is invested in foreign wars.

I supported Obama and Harris. The Summer of Love was the summer of '67. I didn't grow a mind until after a tour in Vietnam during a Summer of War in '68.

Vietnam. Did you get yourself hurt? Why didn't you run away to Canada?
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
@sree251 I volunteered. Running away would never have been an option for me then. Now? I might just get on that plane.

Edit: No I came out fine. Thanks

You volunteered? How long were you over there and what were you doing as a Service Member?
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
@swirlie I was there from March '68 to March '69. I was with 4th Infantry Div. We operated in the Central Highlands region. Our main mission was to intercept and stop personnel and supplies from entering the South coming off the Ho Chi Minh Trail which ran from North Vietnam through Laos and Cambodia.

Okay, so you were there for exactly 12 months then. I was reading where the average tour of duty in Vietnam up until about 1973 was 11 months.

What I was also reading was that the average life expectancy of a soldier during that same timeframe was also 11 months.

If you volunteered, you obviously were not drafted since the draft began and ended from about 1964 to 1973. Did you leave the military after arriving back to the US in 1969?

@swirlie I had about a year an a half left after I got back. I served it at Fort Hood Texas. If you have any questions I will be glad to answer them by PM. I usually don't talk about it much on Internet forums.

Oh, okay. I thought because you had raised issue with your involvement in Vietnam that you were in fact quite comfortable talking about it on internet forums. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

It's a pity @MoveAlong won't talk in the open. He has much things to share that we can learn from. I don't like private conversations. If we can all open our hearts to each other, there would be no more wars.
