My feelings about it have always been complicated. There are a few people who cannot be "fixed" and pose a constant danger to other human beings, and it would be easier to exterminate them. However, the death penalty has never been meted out fairly or equitably in the U.S. And people of color and those who have no money for a vigorous defense are most likely to be its recipients. So better nobody die than an innocent person. And both groups like the Innocence Project and DNA testing have proven that the state has already killed several who were guilty of no crime.

There are certain crimes that should be punishable by death. First degree murder, killing of babies and children. I know of a 10 year old female that was drugged, raped, and dismembered. The people that did this should be put to death!!
I agree in theory but I'm also not comfortable with state sponsored murder I'm not sure if I trust the government all that much.

the problem is always the proofs... about 10% of the people being executed werent guilty of that crime in question

Have no moral judgment in killing humans, I just don't have a belief in justice in most of our countries, I'm UK and never ever want to see capital punishment here, that doesn't mean I'd be beyond killing a pedo here or there

We have an issue here as well. It's nowhere near as bad as some would have you believe but there is the occasional wrongful conviction.

No. It's not a deterrent, one out of every ten convictions is a false one, its application is racially biased, it's more expensive than incarceration, and the state should not have the right to kill its own citizens.

I am against it unless there is irrefutable proof of guilt.
