This is the same POS that wants Medicare for all.
I have Medicare, and to pay for what Medicare DOESN'T cover I pay $650 a month.

@Diotrephes Then who would pay for it? I love the idea of disconnecting health care and employment from one another, but it's a fire-frying pan thing. The political discussion is only centered around who to stick with the bill, and not the cost and entitlement.

It could be a combination of payers. The companies would pay more in taxes and the people would also pay. Remember, each person on Medicare pays a fee, usually from the monthly Social Security check. Of course, over time, the taxes and fees would increase because the doctors, nurses, and specialists would need salary increases.
Population health is a national security issue. During WWII there was a problem because too many men couldn't pass the physical exam because of poor health. That's why the Medicare program was created. It needs to be expanded to all citizens ASAP. One of the main reasons some people don't like such social programs is because Black people will also benefit. Remember, when Social Security was created it excluded almost all Black people.

@Diotrephes We found a way to pay for fire and police protection as well as public education without overloading the burden on anyone. In part also bc firemen, police officers and teachers are employees of the jurisdictions. And if we wish, we can hire our own security guards, and fire protection and send our kids to private schools. If our house catches on fire the fire department responds and doesn't check on whether we paid all our taxes. They just respond to the situation. Likewise when our kids register for public school all that's needed is some proof that they live in the school district. Why isn't healthcare the same? Where the doctors and nurses are employees of the Health Care District? Private healthcare would be available, much like private schools. And those private systems would be free to charge whatever they wish.
We already have a model for universal health care with our universal public education system.

Yes. I know a lot of Jewish people who disagree with Israel’s actions, and still love the country. It’s always been possible to love one’s country, even when one doesn’t agree with what it does.

Great insight into how the Holocaust came to be, and how Hitler and his pals got so many Europeans to help round up the Jew and ship them off to death camps.
