I'm not Christian, but America needs to reflect today on its illegal actions in Iran.

On this Easter Sunday, I’m grateful that a life was saved (the captured pilot).

But resurrection is not just about relief. It is about truth.

This rescue comes in the middle of a war that began with U.S. (and Israeli) strikes on Iran and has already killed thousands and devastated civilians across the region.

Scripture is clear: “Blessed are the peacemakers.” (Matthew 5:9)

And also: “Why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but fail to notice the plank in your own?” (Matthew 7:3)

If we celebrate this moment, we must also confront the reality of violence carried out in our name. Easter calls not only for gratitude but for repentance, justice, and an honest reckoning with actions that have brought suffering to others.

“What does the Lord require of you? To act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly.” (Micah 6:8)

Think about it.
