President Xi Is Having A Great Time

It must have been one of this best days, when Putin informed him of his plan to invade the Ukraine. Unlike Putin, President Xi does not surround himself with "yes" men and he understood that Putin runs a paper tiger.

There's one major power pushed aside.

Then, he could not believe his luck when we elected Trump. All he had to do was wait for Trump to get us into a colossal quagmire, because it was a matter of when, not if.

And Trump delivered.

Does anyone even remember that we were supposed to be in a tariff war, to bring manufacturing to the USA?

Trump is asking for $1.5 Trillion for the military and today he announced that the only thing the Feds should do, is make sure the military is up to snuff, and not worry about stuff like medicare, medicaid, social programs, education, environment... that's what the States are for, unless the States try to manage elections, as prescribed by the Constitution.

Smart man that Xi dude. Why do anything when your opponents are fucking up?

Before he knows it, the US will be begging Iran and Russia to sell oil to him. Oh, wait, it already happened?

Seems as if loaded Taiwanese are making contingency plans, because the US is NOT going to be able to help them.

President Xi, or more accurately the People's Republic of China, has a big strategic advantage over both the United States of America and the Russian Federation.

The USA is a multi-Party democracy whose governance is subject to the vagaries of elections every four years and (normally) of its multi-Party, bicameral Congress.

The RF is presently being run by a tyrannical megalomaniac whose only motive is personal power reinforced by bitterness at the loss of the USSR's former empire. If there is any succession planning, it is hard to see.

Unlike them, the PRC's government is a tyrannical, single-party committee overseeing a system designed for continuity and permanence. The President is that for life, but is really something of a caretaker to that system rather than a "celebrity leader". This gives China the advantage over her rivals of being able to plan for years, even decades ahead; and by very astute, very knowledgable, steadfast and patient people who need not worry about elections.

Are other nations like that? Yes:

To a lesser extent, the Middle Eastern theocracies are similar to China, despite the opposing dogma; but some mix absolute-monarchical dynasty with their highly-conformist cultures and extremist use of their State religion.

North Korea uses a strange mix of Mediaeval-style, personality-cult dynasty and hard-line Communism. (They even call it 'Kimilism'.)

@Rabbit420 I hope not of course, but I don't think America at large would allow it that to happen.

@DeWayfarer Yes - I've seen that mentioned by quite a few people on here. I'm not a doctor and can't judge his health but he certainly seems less rational and consistent, and more aggressive, than I remember from his first term as President.
