U.S. Army has done so well in Venezuela and Iran that SecDef Hegseth just FIRED the Army Chief of Staff.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has asked Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George to step down and take immediate retirement, sources familiar with the decision told CBS News.

One of the sources said Hegseth wants someone in the role who will implement President Trump and Hegseth's vision for the Army.

My guess is Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George got punished for speaking truth to power.

It could, in addition, be a case of preemptive blame: Hegseth fires his underling to place blame before tRump can blame the Iraq disaster on Hegseth.
