"God does not listen to the prayer of those who wage war," says Pope Leo XIV.

After the Pope's remark, White House defends praying for US troops engaged in the Iran war.

"I don't think there is anything wrong with our military leaders or with the president calling on the American people to pray for our service members and those who are serving our country overseas," Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who is also a Catholic, told reporters.

Serving our country to do what exactly? Using overwhelming force to kidnap the Venezuelan head of state, Maduro, and his wife? Extra-judicial killing of boatmen in the Caribbean? Launching a deadly double-tap missile strike on a girl school in Minab, Iran?

Let’s hope our prayers for peace, and wise counsel will be effective as we align with the will of God. We need to be persistent and patient.

True, provided we pray to the one true God and not a commercialized American deity aligned with Trump.
