Liberal Whining Over The Strait of Hormuz

Here's a quote from the retards at the Atlantic. I like picking on them, because they are particularly stupid communists.

"Astonishingly, President Trump and his aides were caught unprepared when Iran, under air assault from the United States and Israel, retaliated by targeting shipping in the Persian Gulf region and specifically through the Strait of Hormuz."

Ok boys and girls, what country suffers the most from the closing of the Strait of Hormuz?

China 😂😂😂

Nope! You forget the Caspian sea. And the Chinese Pipelines going through Russia into southern Europe.

If Russia is getting Iranian drones through the Caspian sea, there's simply no excuse for China to not do the same with oil. And the distance is cut more than half.

It's the other south east Asian countries as well as Australia that is being affected the most.

India is actually affected the most. Guess where all the chip manufacturering is slowly going now?

Yeah the very chips going into apple products.
@DeWayfarer
Nope!

Yep...China gets 40% of it's oil through Hormuz. A higher percentage than any other country

@DeWayfarer Good stuff:

Yeah the very chips going into apple products.
In August 2025, Apple announced a $100 billion investment to expand U.S. manufacturing alongside President Donald Trump, boosting its total domestic commitment to $600 billion over four years. This initiative, featuring a new American Manufacturing Program, shifts more component production—like sensors, glass, and AI chips—to the U.S.

the distance is cut more than half.
If this was a better route, you don't think China would have already been doing this? 🤔

I agree. They need to pony up to protect passage through the strait. Or maybe look for other sources of oil that are more reliable. U.S. oil and petroleum product exports are on the rise, hitting record highs in 2025 and early 2026, driven by increased production, global demand for U.S. shale, and disruptions in the Middle East.

@BizSuitStacy And you ignore the other 60%. No one is asking China for its own oil! It's unusable.

The oil produced in China does tend to have a lower quality compared to that of the USA. This is largely due to the higher sulfur content and other impurities found in Chinese crude oils, making it less desirable for refining into high-quality fuels.

@carpediem That is going to take a decade to build anything for computer chips. We don't have the energy or the infrastructure for computer chips.
Challenges in Semiconductor Manufacturing
Timeframe for Development

Building new semiconductor fabrication plants can take 5 to 10 years, requiring substantial investment and a stable supply chain, which is a significant hurdle.

We import Arabian oil through the Suez canal cheaper than we sell our own oil.

And we sell our oil to everyone else in the world and for a higher price.

Indeed, many countries, including the U.S., often import crude oil from places like Arabia at prices lower than their domestic production costs. This situation can be attributed to several factors.

Why are we even importing oil? It's because it's cheaper to refine Arabian oil than it's cheaper to build the infrastructure to refine our own oil.

This could have been done during the Regan years, like the rest of the world, but oh no we must make a massive profit first.

Both situations are do to lack of infrastructure. We are so busy blaming everyone else.
