You're talking about Judea and Samaria, right? 🇮🇱

@chilloutab2
Correct me if I'm wrong.
You are wrong. There's a big difference. I believe Israel has the right to exist. @helenS does not believe the same for Palestine.

@Waveney I do not see sufficient evidence at least in this thread to conclude either that she does not believe Palestine has a right to exist or that you believe Israel has the right to exist (until your last message to me).
If you're basing your view on previous conversations with her, then I'm sorry I would not be informed about those.
It's good to see you're for a 2 state solution - in my view the sanest possible outcome of the Jew-Arab mess.
But we do need to bear in mind that Hamas is not for a 2 state solution, and also that Israel has majorly over reacted.

@chilloutab2 I have interacted with @helenS before, and she wants nothing less than the total eradication of Palestine and the Palestinian people.
I am for a 2 state solution, but Israel is ignoring international law and illegally annexing the West Bank, while Netanyahu's good buddy Trump ensures the world's attention is turned away.
And if you think that there's still a ceasefire in Gaza, then think again.
We also need to bear in mind that Hamas has nothing to do with the West Bank.

I understand this has come up elsewhere on SW (thanks to @DeWayfarer) but this is the first time I have seen it mentioned. I have been concerned about this for a long time (as have many others, I know) but at the moment the TV news programmes have so much going on of an eye-catching nature and have only so many resources to report the many serious conflicts going on, it is a wonder we hear much apart from that which affects the West's oil needs.
There has been sufficient reporting on the BBC about outrageous attacks from 'settlers' on those already settled on the land not designated for Israeli occupation originally, that in other circumstances there would be an outcry like that over Gaza.
I am a believer in the right of Israel to exist, but the current government is brutal and arrogant. In that respect, it is not unique.

@DeWayfarer aha. The algorithm for the site so skewed horribly pro-Israel and anti-Islam
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Waveney oh it's not the politics. More of a social control to limit trolling.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
You meant to say the East Bank, did you not?
WestonTexan · 18-21, M
They’re trying to annex Lebanon too.
helenS · 36-40, F
@WestonTexan Yeah they should just let Hezbollah slaughter them.
WestonTexan · 18-21, M
@helenS They should stop committing genocide.
benJohnson99 · 18-21, M
@WestonTexan yes and using starvation as a weapon of war x
