IS TRUMP SANE ?

Concerns regarding Donald Trump's mental state and cognitive health have been raised by various commentators, health professionals, and political opponents
. Observations often focus on potential cognitive decline, with some suggesting symptoms consistent with dementia, such as increased impulsivity, erratic decision-making, difficulty completing thoughts, and heightened paranoia

Here is a summary of perspectives:

Concerns and Observations: Reports have noted instances of disjointed speech, memory issues, and disorientation. Some have observed behavior described as "manic" social media activity, angry speeches, and grandiosity.
Mental Health Expert Perspectives: Some mental health professionals have expressed concerns, suggesting traits associated with "malignant narcissism" or other mental disorders.
Cognitive Decline Speculation: Reports in late 2025 and early 2026 mentioned speculation about "severe cognitive decline or dementia," citing examples such as confusing political issues, potential memory lapses, and behavioral changes.
Defenses and Counterarguments: In response to these claims, representatives have previously stated that his health is excellent and that he has aced cognitive tests. Supporters often view his behavior as a calculated strategy rather than a sign of instability

It is really something how Trump‘s frame of mind is such a big focus right now, but in the previous administration when that came up, people just dismissed it and said he was OK

@MoveAlong but before the right was saying that he was not meant to be capable of being president and the left defended that but when they had the idea that he was going to lose the election if he continue running all of a sudden, it became a big issue and he pulled him out and threw somebody it was more of an idiot in

@Jake966 It wasn't all of a sudden. But I agree that the Left are just as capable as the Right at defending the indefensible.

@MoveAlong well I wouldn’t agree with that and I referred to the state of the union address this year

Donald Trump is apparently still in very good physical health, but that is not an indicator of mental health; and neither are necessarily indicators of professional competence. His attempts at international diplomacy are not always, shall we say, very diplomatic; but I doubt that is a medical test.

His health is for only his own doctors to assess, and obviously they will maintain the same professional confidentiality as we would expect of our own.

Whether there is really is a recognised condition called "malignant narcissism", rather than just "narcissism", I have no idea.

If it is all an act, even if "calculated strategy" is stretching the point, we would not expect it from anyone in any senior role. It is hard to imagine what if anything useful it might achieve, because it plays into opponents' hands.

Speculative diagnosis of anyone's physical or mental health by social[?]-media is wrong in principle, likely to be wrong in fact, and helps no-one. Nevertheless it is normal for anyone genuinely too ill to discharge professional duties properly, to retire.

I should add I do not know the USA's Constitional and legal processes for such eventuality - presumably the Vice-President would take over until the next general election?

@markinkansas I have wondered his attitude towards NATO. He doesn't have much respect for other countries, though does like "strong leaders".

@ArishMell ya the wrong strong leaders... all others are seen as soft because they work together .

Count me among the ones who have concerns. Trump is mentally unstable.
