Why are the French training the Kurds close to the Iraqi/Iranian border?

In a stark development of the escalating Iran war, France announced that a French soldier was killed in an Iranian drone attack on a base in the Erbil region of Iraq on Thursday, and several other service members were injured.

The strike targeted a joint Peshmerga-French base in the Makhmour area. The drone hit a military training ground used by French forces advising Peshmerga fighters. Kurds.

The Peshmerga (''Those Who Face Death'') are the internal security forces of the Kurdistan Region.

Macron described the assault on French forces as “unacceptable”. He said the French Navy deployment to the Middle East “demonstrates France’s desire to contribute to de-escalation, to the safety of our citizens, to the safety of our partners, and the freedom of navigation and maritime security.” French duplicity is a lot more savvy than the American swagger of Donald Trump.

@sree251 training up some angry out group with grudges like the kurds, the contras, Taiwanese separatists, Ukraine's Nazis or Venezuelan fascists who hate chavismo has been tried and tried, until people don't really want to be bribed by the Americans and it won't result in any fighting forces for the USA.

Well, money is a powerful incentive used mainly by the CIA to incite social unrest. Now, we do it openly. The State Department announced Friday that Iranian citizens can earn up to $10 million and the right to move to America if they inform on the whereabouts of 10 senior Islamic Republic leaders.

first crush their currency.

Whose currency?
@sree251 in Venezuela and Iran Scott Bessant, US treasury Secretary, bragged that our country had managed to crash the currency in Venezuela and in Iran, causing social unrest and suffering that the US and Israel exploited. Bribing is easy with a CIA blank check and desperate people you're always messing with!. American people were not calling it "economic war" because that's a crime, but Bessant calls it "economic statecraft". That's a crime he's proud of.

Trump is bad, and he has gathered around him a lot of bad people. It was the same in his first term.
@sree251 yet when Obama killed Gaddafi, that was okay. The Venezuela sanctions killed people, but, Obama did that too, and Clinton bombed Baghdad, goodly.

And without politics and honesty, it's going to be dangerous until someone forces the USA to stop.
