And yet Iran still managed to shut down the Strait of Hormuz indefinitely, thereby nearly doubling the price of crude (so far).

Perhaps the age of Iran's aircraft isn't relevant in the current conflict. Perhaps this propaganda is focusing attention on the wrong things.

@ElwoodBlues only 20% flows thur there everyone agrees on...which means 80% travels a different pathway!!
@lpthehermit says
everyone agrees ...
Most folks also agree that demand for oil is very "inelastic," meaning prices have to get pretty high before folks start cutting back on oil usage. Two or three more dollars per gallon at the pump is what it takes for Americans to cut back.

BTW, did you know that 20% to 30% of fertilizer components (such as phosphate and urea) pass thru the Strait of Hormuz? Yeah, that's double whammy on US farmers -- increased fertilizer prices on top of increased fuel prices. That is NOT what rural people voted for in 2024!!

@ElwoodBlues again this means 70-80 % comes from elsewhere...mostly canada
@lpthehermit Canada, you mean the neighbor tRump raised tariffs on by so much? I don't think they'll be inclined to cut us any special deals. Other than Israel, do we have ANY allies left in the developed world??
