If I had to take a guess, much like with Venezuela, he was looking for a quick strike and then Iran giving up and surrendering their oil, just like Venezuela, but that didn't happen this time. Israel also had lots to benefit with their desireto get rid of Hezbola and a lot of them being funded by Iran. So it was killing two birds with one stone, but, like everything trump touches, it failed and now he has no idea what to do.
