Iran has the right to defend itself.

Just wanted to say that. It shouldn’t be controversial but we all know that the right wing types love a pile-on.

After all, we hear this argument all the time in defence of the indefensible actions of another Middle-Eastern state…

IF Iran were only defending itself, but for decades now they have been encouraging and supplying other warmongers, ie Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis and more recently Russia. In the 80's they were at war with Iraq as proxy wars for the US and Russia. Neither the US, Israel or Iran are blameless in this conflict and it's not the populace of Iran who are to blame, yet they will be the ones who will suffer the consequences of the actions of Khomeini and Khamenei now.

@Waveney The difference being that Israel doesn't have those other subordinate proxies to attack Iran like Iran has, aside from the US, they are pretty much on their own in that region. Not in the least condoning some of the things they are doing but they are surrounded by enemies wanting to destroy them...
