my point is that there WERE negotiations going on between the Japanese and the US right up until Pearl Harbor

just as there were negotiations going on regardinging Iran's nuclear program.

Another difference is the Japananes didn't bomb the White House to kill the President.

After Eastern Europe and the JCPOA which told the world the US doesn't abide by any of their own treaties and are not worth the paper they are printed on now Trump has created a situation where now negotiations are just a pretext for assassinations and attacks too.
