Khamenei was a monster who had his own people tortured and murdered. I hope the Iranian people can take over and establish a working democracy.
I'm afraid trump has other ideas though. He will try to install a dictator who answers to him, not the Iranian people.

By Monday, Trump will be on AF1, and a reporter will ask if this is about oil, and before Rubio can hand a note that says "No, it was about the Iranian people," Trump will say "yes, it was about the oil."
Khamenei and the Mullahs subjected Syria to a murderous war that costs the lives of hundreds of thousands of people, and the brutal torture of tens of thousands, and Lebanon to the brutal occupation of their proxy militia, Hezballah.
Reading the Lebanese media sources, there's a sense of relief that Hezballah lost its benefactor.
But, Trump seems to be pushing the Shah's son as the interim ruler, something that Iranians who want the Mullahs gone, do not support, because they have not forgotten the Shah's brutal police.
But the Shah's son will provide a good cover for control over the world's second largest oil and natural gas reserves.
We already tried regime change in Iran in 1953,

The youth of Iran are very westernized but don't expect them to embrace western democracy.

There's nothing confirmed yet,I imagine if this was 100 percent Donnie boy would waste no time claiming victory. But supposing it is true, there's no guarantee this will lead to anything in US/Israel's favour.

Can you think of an instance where a us-backed regime change worked out for the better?

Not since WWII

@Northwest different situation in WWII, and even arguably toppling that regime led to the Cold War.

Another Middle Eastern regime and leader bites the dust… or sand in this case.
