Those preachers are all making money. Very American. I wonder what happened to Joel Osteen. I have to say that I found him very presentable, convincing, and not obnoxious in any way.

@sree251 Yeah Joel Osteen isn't a Christian either. The celebrity 'pastors' you saw in that picture are nominal Christians at best. From what I have heard and I don't follow Osteen so what I say is from other reports is that his mega church is new mega empty. Covid killed it. A lot of the mega churches are suffering the same fate. The people used to come for the show not the message and when COVID happened the people stayed home and found better entertainment on YouTube and just never went back to the mega church. Well that and the weak message that was part of the entertainment lost its allure as well.

I can see that you have a high regard for Christian identity. I suppose not many people claiming to be Christians meet the specs. Then, there are the various churches identifying with the Christian brand. There are the obvious commercial enterprises milking their respective congregations, and others inspired by Christ-based theology.

@sree251 I listen to what is actually being said and not the con being played. Jesus is fully LORD and we humans are completely failed beings. Only by the GRACE of God can we humans have any Hope. It is easy to tickle ears with nice messages like Osteen. It is even easier to con greedy people with messages of greed like Dana White, Ken Copland etc do. It is difficult to faithfully deliver the Good News of the Kingdom of Heaven. People don't want to hear the Gospel. They want peace and ease in their personal life. More money not deeper Spirituality.

Can being a Christian be a spiritual calling of a personal kind? Or does it require involvement of others also?

@sree251 We need other people who are striving toward the same Spiritual goal. We can not solo our way into the Kingdom. That being said the Gospel is about personal submission to Jesus as King. We do what we do because He is King not because we expect some sort of reward for doing what He has told us to do. Luke 17:7 -10 That being said we need other people both to encourage us and for us to encourage.
