Bribe recipient Tom Homan wants an apology from Minnesotans

In September 2024, Tom Homan, currently the U.S. "Border Czar" in the second Trump administration, was reportedly recorded accepting $50,000 in cash from undercover FBI agents posing as business executives, say MS NOW and Wikipedia. The agents were seeking to secure future government contracts, Politico notes. The investigation was closed in early 2025 by the incoming Trump administration, which dismissed the allegations.

Homan says Minnesota should “say thank you” after federal immigration operations.

But Susan Demas and Sam Osterhout examine the data — including reporting that ICE agents have a dramatically higher arrest rate per capita than the population they police.
