I will admit I don't know much about the powers of the modern UK Monarchy. But they have striped Andrew of his titles and basically disowned him. I mean sure they could cut him off financially. Not really sure what else they can do. Should it not be up to Starmer and the legislative branch to do something? Don't you need a criminal investigation to happen first? This seems a bit out of order.
And I find this commentator is being a bit dishonest in that the Royal family may have known things about Andrew for 15 years but he has not been King for 15 years. It is interesting that everyone seems to be sweeping under the rug the fact that for most of this period it was up to his Mother, not him.
There is also the situation in British politics where the Monarch has been called to task about simply writing an Op Ed as meddling in politics so they are in a bit of a situation where if they appear to be too pro active they could be taken to task for overstepping and meddling in politics and Starmer likely would be totally ok with that since it draws attention away from them. The whole situation is a mess.
