Do you know who isn’t in the Epstein files? Barack Obama.

Little Saint James is a small private island in the United States Virgin Islands, southeast of Saint Thomas. It was the playground of the powerful, the rich, and the famous. As they say, a black man is never found in the best places.

Yeah, but knowing Obama, he'd be the first one to defend everyone in the files.

@BohoBabe
Yeah, but knowing Obama, he'd be the first one to defend everyone in the files.

Why would he do that?
BohoBabe · M
@sree251 Obama is a hardcore institutionalist Liberal. The reason he didn't have Bush and Cheney charged for war crimes is because it would have gone against precedent. Obama also accomplished very little as president because he kept trying to compromise with the fascist Republicans, who of course were unwilling to compromise.
If he was president now, he'd refuse to have Trump charged on anything, for the same reason he gave Bush a pass.

@BohoBabe You believe that Obama was a free agent not under control of anyone?
BohoBabe · M
@sree251 He was a free agent, but after spending decades in the swamp, he basically assimilated to the culture of the Democrats. Part of that culture is blind loyalty to the laws and norms, which unfortunately is very common among Liberals.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@BohoBabe Liberals are loyal to norms?
BohoBabe · M
@sree251 Yes. That's why the Democrats are unwilling to go against the norms, but Republicans do it constantly.

It does make sense. America is a liberal country, so if you're a Liberal, you think we already have the correct system. This might make you less willing to change too much, out of fear of no longer having a liberal institution. But if you're a Leftist or a Fascist, you want to radically change the system. So you're much more willing to change norms and laws.

@BohoBabe Liberals don't like change? Aren't liberals broad-minded, tolerant, and inclined to be open to ideas and ways of behaving that are not conventional or traditional?
BohoBabe · M
@sree251 Sure, but they don't like change that feels radical or threatens the existing institutions. Notice how easy it was for Liberals to accept the ACA, but they think Medicare for All is basically Stalinism. It's because the ACA only slightly improved healthcare, while Medicare for All would change the healthcare industry.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@BohoBabe So, liberals are open to change within existing institutions but not change to institutions themselves.
BohoBabe · M
@sree251 That's a good way of putting it.
Of course it's not black and white. But generally speaking, Liberals are more resistent to big changes out of fear that the institutions themselves might be changed.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@BohoBabe Are liberals resistant to big changes to the institution of marriage between men and women?
BohoBabe · M
@sree251 That wasn't a big change. The institution of marriage is pretty much the same now.
