In your opinion, when did the current extreme partisanship in US politics begin?

Reagan famously worked with a democrat congress.
Ruth Bader Ginsberg was confirmed with 96 votes in 1993
John Roberts was confirmed with 78 votes in 2005.
Samuel Alito had very little Democrat support in 2006
By 2008, there was very little across-the-aisle collaboration.

St Ronnie Ray-gun did a lot. But Newt Gingrich took it to a whole new level of "destroy the evil satanic Democrats who eat babies and force kids to get sex change operations."

That later morphed into MAGA and trump.
