I have even problem with the so called achievement (merit) system though. That is as well a bad outlook.
Meritocracy is a capitalist approach. So your back to the military approach.

AI learning is as well based on statistical analysis. Think about that! And it is as well guided by training data which was stated by humans. Then further guided by limitations after the training data was set.
AI as well is based on the biases of it's own trainers in multiple ways.
