Sorry to get political but, why does the US think Denmark cannot defend Greenland?

@carpediem Regardless, Greenland is part of NATO and is therefore defended by the US as well as all other NATO countries.

However, I notice Trump has now confused Greenland with Iceland. That would be easier for him in that case, as Iceland is not part of NATO.

@Lostwithielle You need to start paying attention kid. NATO, as you mentioned in your first post, IS the US. So the largest contributor in NATO has stated it is in the national interest of both the US and NATO contries for the US to acquire and defend Greenland, and thus the north Atlantic trades routes and more from predatory adversaries. If you don't believe Russia and or China aren't interested in Greenland, I might direct your attention to Ukraine.

Stupidity and weak thinking such as you are displaying is why Ukraine was invaded and why the Nazi's took Czechoslovakia without a second thought. But then liberals were never accused of being strategic thinkers so I get the reason you're lost.

Greenland is strategically located for a variety of reasons that you'll just have to research yourself.

And by the way, Trump just cut a deal at Davos so this entire conversation could be moot.

@carpediem so yes, this “deal” seems to involve Trump dropping tariffs and NATO expanding its military presence there. Denmark has said for ages that it would be only too happy to see an increased military presence there.
