@PeterByres55UK I would be concerned. It's a fallacy that you are using though I'm too lazy to look up which type. So ice may get one rapist but 10 more people who are innocent are taken from their families. Take the veteran who was deported on a 30 year old drug charge back when he had undiagnosed ptsd because they didn't know what ptsd was. It doesn't matter if he hasn't been in trouble since, they don't care about that.

Most importantly ice has been caught saying racist things, you think those people with prejudice would give immigrants a fair trial? I mean I'm asking this in a legitimate way.

@SatanBurger fair question. The ICE agents will not give the final judgement. That is for the courts.

@PeterByres55UK Regardless, innocent people are getting swept up into heavy handed tactics so yes I would be concerned even they manage to get one guilty over 10 innocent.

If you're authoritarian who wants to control others because something in your inner world is out of balance then you'd be all for it. There's only one type of person who wants this to exist.

Even if the most damning evidence is found, it can be excluded in court under the 4th Amendment unreasonable search an seizure clause. Legal doctrine on the topic can be found by search for "fruit of the poisoned tree."

Real cops get about 2000 hours of training and are well aware of these evidentiary laws. ICE either lacks that knowledge or willfully ignores it.

The reason we have such rules is to block this kind of "show your papers" fascism and prevent it from taking root.
