In the US, with the overload of illegals, the police can ask you for your ID if they have probable cause. There is no other way to know, and by law we all must have a verified form of government ID on our person and we must surrender it if asked. Refusing will only draw more suspicion. If you are not an illegal, you will be on your way in a few moments.

@Notmesam If you are a citizen, and police ask you for an ID, and you do not have it, you will be detained until they verify who you are. A huge hassle easily avoided by carrying your ID. If you are a non-citizen, you'd better have your green card on you.
If you drive, you must have it
If you fly you must have it
To purchase prescription meds you must have it
To get treatment in a hospital, you must have it
To buy controlled substances, you must have it

@Notmesam I just said they had to have probable cause. In the case of a manhunt where a fugitive is dangerous, they may also come inside and check the premises.
If they are suspicious of you, they will sit on your house until you come out. If you dont come out in a few days, they will obtain a warrant to enter after you. Are you illegal?

@TexChik The only thing this country is going through has been created by this administration. The government overreach we are witnessing has American citizens being arrested, detained, beaten and shot. While you might agree with it because of who is in office, the tune will change when that same government under a different administration does the same to you and your neighbors. It’s not about left or right, it’s about making sure the government respects our rights as citizens.

@Notmesam No American citizens are being arrested who did not break the law first, American citizens can be detained if they do not have a proper ID, Beaten and shot...if you assault a police officer , absolutely , resist arrest absolutely. Did the Trump admin let in 20 million illegals? Really, I didn't know that. The previous administration did not care about the citizens , only the illegals. Today we see all the fraud and illegal actions that took place in the last regime. No one who is not born here has the right to be here, that is a privilege that has been abused...Propaganda and false statements are what the left use to push their lies.
@TexChik There have been numerous citizens detained and arrested and deported for looking Latino. These are American citizens that broke no laws, did not resist, and made an effort to prove their citizenship. This is government overreach, and unconstitutional. The fact that it’s happening to Americans you disagree with has you blinded to the fact that it can easily happen to you. The constitution, makes it very clear, we are all protected equally under the law. Regardless of skin, color, background accent or other difference. Is the right now OK with their constitutional rights being infringed on in order to remove people they don’t like?

@Notmesam Well they got returned. Its not unconstitutional to enforce the law, but on that scale a few mistakes occur. Like Jan 6 detainees. Not due process, just locked away by over zealous libs, why arent you talking about that, they are citizens too, and the government violated their civil rights because of politics
@TexChik I was about to ask you the same thing lol. Those people clearly broke the law, attacked police officers, and one of them died. Did she deserve what happened to her because she broke the law?
And by the way, it’s absolutely unconstitutional to deport detain, arrest, and deport a US citizen, without due process.

@TexChik lol watch it with a hostile language this site will flag you.
So now that Trump is in office, and Kash is the head of the FBI, and the GOP now has both the house and the Senate. And the DOJ is in Trump’s pocket. Why haven’t they released any evidence? Why hasn’t Kash given us the agents that were in charge of January 6? The only evidence I’ve ever seen is weird YouTube wormholes that right wingers get into. Why hasn’t there been a January 6 hearing to give us all this evidence and arrest the people in charge?
Even if Biden did pardon people, we can still have evidence released officially by the FBI, or all the federal agencies involved. But we’ve seen nothing lol.
