What do the non-Americans here think of Americans at the moment?

I was in Europe at the beginning of the second Gulf War and the beginning of Trump's first term. I saw lots of anti-war sentiment the first time but little anti-American sentiment. Similar during the first Trump era but with the universal added question of "How did this happen?". I'm sensing it's different now. Ovwr the past 50 years or so I'v met, dated, worked with Americans. Most were fine, albeit often with the usual ignorance of the world outside the USA. However, over the last 25 years or so it has become increasingly clear that a significant minority of Americans have become religiously and politically fanatically right wing, as well as even more ignorant of the world, and uneducated. And it is scary just how bad it haz become. Trump was and is an example of this though he's a symptom, not the cause.
