WSJ Editorial Board: 'Violent episodes' like ICE shooting won't help Trump, GOP in November

[media=https://youtu.be/s1fGRNfL2Ow]

The WSJ Editorial board issuing such a statement in the first place is extraordinary, especially given ownership and the fact that The Board is perceived to lean to the right.

The WSJ is essentially saying Whatever you think of Immigration even if you want a crackdown that the excesses of how trump is handling it is an eyesore even for those who want a stronger border (I don't, just wanted that noted I disagree with those who are pushing for stronger borders, but that isn't here or there. Even if you do support them, you can still think the messy way Trump is trying to deliver them is a stain on the republic.)

Well, it's better to say the WSJ is not as extreme right as most other conservative media.

They have been almost moderate if not liberal lately.

Just a couple of paragraphs.

Wall Street Journal
January 9, 2026

A federal immigration agent’s fatal shooting of a woman in Minneapolis has spurred deeply diverging narratives of who is to blame.

The incident also has created an unusual rift between federal and local law enforcers, raising questions about whether, and how, Minnesota officials might seek to prosecute the agent over a shooting they say was unjustified. And it has renewed questions about Trump’s aggressive deportation agenda and the surge of ICE agents into the streets of American cities.

Would post the link to this, yet I suspect you are blocked either way.
And some observers may be cottoning onto the fact that despite a year of mass deportations and a year of tariffs, your rent hasn't gone down, insurance premiums are doubling, and groceries are still too expensive.

Maybe its time for MAGA to admit immigrants aren't the problem.

@ElwoodBlues My rent actually went up 6.67% in April last year. During Trump's term. My SSI increase was 1%.

So I'm losing 5.67% just on rent. Nothing else.

BTW That is actually out of my pocket.
