Haha republicans screwed themselves in Wyoming trying to get back at Obama

I'm glad they did though, the law that was proposed would have been devastating, citing banning abortion for almost all reasons except rpe or incest.

Unfortunately I happen to know just how conservative Wyoming really is.

Take Florida and Texas together and you won't get as conservative as Wyoming is. They unfortunately will change their state constitution. 😕

I have lived in both Texas and Wyoming for six years. Yes both!

You won't find a gay bar in all of Wyoming. I can tell you of two in San Antonio alone! Just that one city has more population than all of Wyoming. Double actually.
@DeWayfarer I have friends in Cheyenne, they have told me their city, as well as Cody and Thermopolis, is starting to get over run by cali leftists in attempts to turn Wyoming blue, like they have with Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Minnesota, Bozeman, Missoula, and Billings, Montana, Wisconsin, and eastern Nebraska, they are now attempting Utah, Idaho, North and South Dakota, iowa, and Missouri.

@NativePortlander1970 Well I know Cheyenne even better! That six years was all in Cheyenne! 🤣

It's the state capitol BTW!

I've been in Austin Texas, again the state capitol, as well! My girlfriend lived there! You can't be more liberal than being a woman that is wiccan.

They don't exist in Wyoming. It's too cold there!

@DeWayfarer Yikes I'll stay away from Wyoming, Wyoming being Florida and Texas is a little too much psycho for me. I'm not looking to get into the conservative version of Midsommar movie for me 😶

@SatanBurger I was always going into Denver, Greeley or Fort Collins, whenever I could do so. Colorado isn't that bad. Though then it was somewhat conservative.

Wyoming though couldn't have changed that much. It's still around 500 thousand population. Not much different than in the 80s.

Totally backwards from the rest of the USA, which has grown far far more.

Observations on Population and Changes

Your reflections highlight a significant point about demographic changes in the West. While Colorado has seen substantial growth, particularly in places like Denver, Greeley, and Fort Collins, Wyoming has remained relatively stable in terms of population size.

Colorado's Evolution

Over the past few decades, Colorado has transformed dramatically. The shift toward a more progressive and urban lifestyle is notable, especially with the influx of new residents attracted by its natural beauty and outdoor lifestyle. The population growth in places like Denver and Fort Collins often contrasts with the more conservative traditions you mentioned.

Wyoming's Stagnation

In contrast, Wyoming has maintained a smaller population, hovering around 500,000. This stability suggests less economic diversification compared to rapidly growing regions. Many rural areas continue to experience challenges in attracting new residents, which can lead to a feeling of being "backwards" relative to the dynamic growth seen in other states.

Broader Trends

Your observation about the broader trends across the U.S. is also significant. In many parts of the country, urban areas have expanded, leading to increased diversity and changing political landscapes. This contrasts sharply with states like Wyoming, where economic and social structures have remained more static.

It's interesting to consider how these demographic changes affect local cultures and political ideologies
