Stand by for US stock market crash? Trump bombs Venezuela, kidnaps dictator . . .

Photo above - this is the White House undergoing remodeling for a new ballroom. NOT the bombed residence of dictator Maduro in Venezuela.

Several sources are claiming the USA bombed Caracas, Venezuela overnight and kidnapped dictator Maduro. See link below.

If this is true (and it appears to be) we should expect immediate and severe financial turmoil. US markets may fall, and 401K values cut. Not certain what happens to gold and bitcoin . . . they are flat as of this writing (6am ET)

I did not vote for this SOB (I voted for Nikki Haley as a write-in). Trump did not campaign in 2024 on a promise to invade Venezuela. Or annex Greenland. Or cede Ukraine to Russia. If he had, he would not have been elected. The MAGA base is getting everything it claimed it DIDN’T want – more US involvement in foreign wars.

I’m watching to see news about which branches of the US military participated, and the involvement of cabinet members such as Pete Hegseth and Marco Rubio.

This seems to be a wag the dog scenario (again). Distract the public with fake international crises to mute debate on everything else that’s going wrong. Or it may just be that Trump has had a brain aneurism, and Hegseth has been certifiable all along.

I’m just sayin’ . . .

@SusanInFlorida they see this as an acquisition of a resource. They are happy it belongs to us and not China. It’s a straight up cash grab.

@AthrillatheHunt rubio was on TV last night. Explaining how non-American companies (european) will be tapped as neutral parties to restore the poorly maintained Venezuelan wells and refineries.

I guess this means British Petroleum, Royal Dutch Shell, and whatever companies from Norway and Denmark are operating those 91 offshore drilling operations in the North Sea.
