The reason why the project is vetoed is because it is a scam that has over a 60 year period, since its approval in 1962 by President Kennedy, siphoned off more than half a billion dollars in federal taxpayers' money. As of November 2025, it is still in the easement acquisition phase!

@sree251 REALLY this still sound like a needed project . from the page you supplied
groundwater supplies that may contain naturally occurring radionuclides
The Arkansas Valley Conduit (AVC) is a major infrastructure project that, upon completion, will provide reliable municipal and industrial water to 39 communities in Southeastern Colorado. The pipelines will bring water from Pueblo Reservoir to Bent, Crowley, Kiowa, Otero, Prowers, and Pueblo counties. It is projected to serve up to 50,000 people in the future (equivalent to 7,500 acre-feet per year).
Currently, many people in these areas rely on groundwater supplies that may contain naturally occurring radionuclides such as radium and uranium. Alternatives for these communities consist of expensive options such as reverse-osmosis, ion exchange, filtration, and bottled water. The region’s health and welfare depend on a reliable source of clean, safe water.

@sree251 its a man right at the moment .. i lived in those areas .. clean water means less health care needed for the people..

@markinkansas
We all need clean, safe water. Back in the days, we all could safely drink from the Mississippi. Every time there is a government project, the vultures circle above. Why are we such a corrupted nation?

First of all, nobody should veto a bill because money will go to someone they don't like on a personal level. If I was able to pass universal basic income, a lot of money would go to red states. But I would still do it because it's not about the politicians I dislike, it's about the people of those states.
Secondly, the reason Trump is mad at Boebert is because she demanded the release of the Epstein Files.
The point is that he has a good justification to back up his veto.

It's just outside Denver. Sounds like you had a rough time growing up in the sticks. I drive thru small towns all the time wondering how you folks live out there.

Why were you poor? This is not a personal question but a serious inquiry into the American dream.

@sree251 Fascinating analysis. Guessing you got that from Youtube?
If you REALLY want to know why trump vetoed a water bill that helps those that voted for him...and was supported and passed on a bi-partisan basis....look up TINA PETERS,
She was indicted in 2022 and finally convicted on massive evidence of federal election fraud. She was one of the trump stooges in Colorado that tried to throw the 2020 election trump's way with the phony elector scheme.....that trump was behind. When the Supreme Cult said trump could not be tired on federal election cheating charges......Colorado charged Peters on state charges so none of trump's appointed federal judges could let her off and trump could not pardon her because he has no pardon power over state charges. Trump...scared she will cut a deal and testify against him to get a shortened sentence has been hot on Colorado since 2022 to let her go. Colorado says HELL NO. This veto was man baby's way to get even with Colorado for locking up one of his stooges. If they want water..................he will reverse the veto. If they don't grovel and suck his dick...........it stays in place. That's the tiny mind president we have. Hurt his own voters to get his way..

No analysis from Youtube. I made my own analysis based on report in these links:
https://www.usbr.gov/gp/ecao/avc/?ftag=MSF0951a18
https://www.secwcd.org/content/arkansas-valley-conduit
I am not really interested in Trump's veto against throwing federal taxpayers' money in this instance. My focus now is on Trump's move on Venezuela.
