Elected politicians have an obligation to serve their constituency. These individuals have the right to peaceful protests. What is the effect? That should only matter to the individual protesting. In other words: It's none of my business.
There is a Quaker church in my town that has been supporting Ukraine since the conflict began. Every day I see them holding peace signs and waving to passersbies on street corners. It amazes me how many people scream out profanities at them while they wave. The next day they show up again smiling and giving people peace signs. What purpose do they serve? At the very least, they remind me that this country still encompass individuals who honor character and integrity.
